Decontamination (sometimes abbreviated as decon, dcon, or decontam) is the process of removing contaminants on an object or area, including chemicals, microorganisms or radioactive substances. It refers to specific action taken to reduce the hazard posed by such pollutants instead of general cleaning. This may be achieved by chemical reaction, disinfection or physical removal.
Decontamination is most commonly used in medical environments, including dentistry, surgery and veterinary science, in preparation, environmental science,[1] and forensic science.[2]

- Disinfection: A disinfectant is a chemical substance or compound used to inactivate or destroy microorganisms on inert surfaces.[1] Disinfection does not necessarily kill all microorganisms, exceptionally resistant bacterial spores; it is less effective than sterilization, an extreme physical or chemical process that kills all types of life.[1] Disinfectants are generally distinguished from other antimicrobial agents such as antibiotics, which destroy microorganisms within the body, and antiseptics, which destroy microorganisms on living tissue. Disinfectants are also different from biocides—the latter is intended to eliminate all forms of life, not just microorganisms.
- Disinfectants work by destroying the cell walls of microbes or interfering with their metabolism. It is also a form of decontamination and can be defined as the process whereby physical or chemical methods are used to reduce the number of pathogenic microorganisms on a surface.[2][3]Disinfectants can also be used to destroy microorganisms on the skin and mucous membrane; as in the medical dictionary, historically, the word meant that it kills microbes.[4][5][6][7][8]Sanitisers are substances that simultaneously clean and disinfect.[9] Disinfectants kill more germs than sanitisers.[10]

Sanitisers are mild compared to disinfectants and are used mostly to clean things in human contact. In contrast, disinfectants are concentrated and are used to clean surfaces like floors and building premises.[citation needed][11]Bacterial endospores are most resistant to disinfectants, but some fungi, viruses and bacteria also possess some resistance.[12]
Cleaning and Disinfection
Disinfectants are used to kill bacteria rapidly. They kill off the bacteria by causing the proteins to become damaged and the outer layers of the bacteria cell to rupture. The DNA material subsequently leaks out.[citation needed]
In wastewater treatment, a disinfection step with chlorine, ultra-violet (UV) radiation or ozonation can be included as a tertiary treatment to remove pathogens from wastewater, for example, if it is to be discharged into a river or the sea where the body contact immersion recreations are practised (Europe) or reused to irrigate golf courses (US). An alternative term used in the sanitation sector for the disinfection of waste streams, sewage sludge or faecal sludge is sanitisation or sanitization.[citation needed]

6 Step Decontamination and sanitisation process of COVID-19
The chemical we use to decontaminate and sanitise combines Quaternary Ammonium Compound
with Chlorine Dioxide, both of which are formidable against Bacteria and Viruses.
Our product is a TGA-registered, USEPA-registered disinfectant that has been proven to kill tier-1
viruses (i.e. tenacious and very difficult to kill) such as the feline calicivirus and the canine
parvovirus, as well as the porcine coronavirus.

recommended and used as a disinfectant for Covid-19.
STEP 1
Initial phone assessment and inspection (if required)
OZ Services Group offers a full pre-inspection, where you will be notified of what is needed for the
customer (e.g. Clutter, clothes to be stored away, cutlery to be washed and stored, washing stored,
pets, etc.), results to be expected and any risks existing (if any).
STEP 2
Biohazard site Set Up
Employees are to be in full Biohazard PPE:

If there is a confirmed case of a person(s) having contracted the coronavirus COVID-19, a
containment area will be set up for the management of Biohazard Decontamination and the safety of
or specialists.
Clients and pets must not be inside the premises at the time of decontamination and must not return for a
minimum of 2 hours, once completed.
Biohazard warnings and tape will be placed to set up exclusion zones at the entry points of both
residential and commercial premises being decontaminated.
STEP 3
Dry soil removed
To be completed by our certified technicians using our HEPA commercial-grade vacuums
HEPA (High-Efficiency Particulate Air) vacuums differ from conventional vacuums in that they
contain filters that are capable of trapping microscopic, micron-sized particles. A pure HEPA filter
can catch 99.97 per cent of all airborne particles larger than 0.3 microns.
STEP 4
Extraction
Removal of all soils loosened through pre-conditioning from either our HEPA vacuums, dry foam
cleaning and decontamination, using microfibre cloths on all door handles, hard surfaces, light
switches, power outlets and any areas that have high human contact.
STEP 5
Remediation
All areas must be treated with a 99.97% decontamination rate, using the latest commercial foggers and
our biodegradable, non-toxiHomeon-corrosive, USEPA-approved chemical.
STEP 6
Post Inspection
Re-treat areas that have been inspected that may need further decontamination upon inspection.
Test and measure Air quality for the health and safety of your family, employees and yourself to
ensure air quality is below 0.3 microns.
